Sunset, Southend on Sea

Yes, this is another experiment - but it's important! I've emailed myself a couple of photos. One is actual size and the other has been resized by my phone to 'medium'. I want to see how they come out on here.

This is the 'actual size' version. The photo itself was taken back around Easter this year and yes, it really is Southend! I'm quite proud of this one actually, as it was taken on my trusty iPhone 4 from the window of a moving car! No idea who any of the people are!

This one is the 'medium' version. What I really want to see is whether there's any appreciable difference in quality between the two so that I know which to use when I'm blogging for real on holiday. So here we are then. The end of another experiment! Feel free to offer any suggestions or comments if you like!

Connecting BlogPress, Twitter and Facebook

Finally, a real post!

BlogPress has the ability to publish to Facebook and Twitter natively (i.e. in-app), but it's a pain as Facebook seems to demand you enter your username and password every time. So, there's a nice, simple workaround (which will be even nicer when iOS5 ships, as it has Twitter integration built right in!)

For now, within Twitter simply go to the settings and link your Twitter account to your Facebook account.

Then, in Facebook, allow the Twitter app to publish to your wall.

And finally, in BlogPress simply publish to both Blogger (or whichever blog you use) and Twitter. Don't also publish to FB as the steps above will do this for you (although, if you DO post to FB as well, the worst that will happen is that you link to your blog will appear twice; once from BlogPress and once from Twitter).

Incidentally, it doesn't seem possible to post from FB to Twitter any more as FB disabled this some time in 2010 from what (admittedly sparse) research I have done.

Test 2

Ok, so I have this set to publish to both Twitter and Facebook, but I also have Facebook set to publish to Twitter and vice versa, so what gets posted where will be interesting!

Just a test...

I'm trying to get things organised for my holiday later this year. Actually, two holidays: one with my church group, and another with family. Hopefully the weather will be good. It's been raining so badly today that my roof leaked!

Really not sure how this works so this will be quite an interesting test! Going to try inserting a photo I took back in 2006 en route to Tintagel Castle, Cornwall. I'm trying to get the text to flow around the image.
No idea if it's worked or not! Guess I'll find out when I look in my browser. Yes, I'm waffling! It's because I need padding to test this properly! If you came here looking for an interesting and absorbing read, I'm afraid you're out of luck! Haha!

If you get the chance to go to Tintagel, you might see this whimsical shop. We never went in ourselves, and I often wonder if we might have missed out! Maybe next time! Anyway I think I have enough here to work with now, so let's get this uploaded and hope for the best!
